BMW India will launch the second-generation of the X6 SUV on July 23, 2015. The car, that will face competition from Audi Q7, Mercedes-Benz ML-Class, Land Rover Range Rover Sport, and Porsche Cayenne.
The 2015 BMW X6 sheds 40Kgs as compared to the outgoing model, but continues to feature the 50:50 weight distribution. The new X6 SUV will come powered by a 3.0-litre 6-cylinder in-line diesel unit that delivers 313 horses along with 630Nm of maximum torque. It will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that will transfer power to all wheels.
As far as performance is concerned, the X6 can go from standstill to 100Km/h in 5.8 seconds on its way to a top-speed of 240Km/h.
BMW India will retail the 2015 X6 in India via CBU, much like the car's predecessor. Additionally, the company will also bring in the X6 M, which is the performance version of the standard X6. To arrive later this year, the X6 M will house a 4.4-litre V8 TwinPower Turbo unit under the hood and promises 575bhp and 750Nm of torque.
